WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY
ANXIOUS by Scarlet Hiltibidal
Beginning in January, every other Monday @6pm, in the Fellowship Hall. Led by Tiena. All women welcome.
We live in a broken, sad, scary place. We don’t need to watch the natural disasters and political unrest in the news to know what our bodies already know. Our bodies get sick. Our minds are fragile. The mortality rate for humans is astonishingly high. There’s plenty to worry about, and the world is full of faulty solutions for our anxieties.
But true peace comes when we learn to hold God’s Word up to what worries us. There, we learn we can’t fix ourselves; we can’t protect ourselves. Instead, the Bible tells us we can rest, knowing that Jesus walked into the broken, sad, scary places to rescue us and love us. He is the One who fixes. His is the only protection that matters.

Called to Love
In all things we are called to Love God and Love our neighbors.
Committed to Prayer
We have committed to a life of prayer, because all things we do should begin with prayer. We have a list of things to pray for in 2022. All year long we will be praying for:
* People to give their lives to Jesus.
* People to join our Church family.
* Members to commit to a deeper relationship with God.
* People who are sick or hurting.
* People who you have trouble getting along with.
* Pray for 20 leaders.

PAST VBS: THE INCREDIBLE RACE
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." -Jesus
We have a heart for spreading God's word in our community and to the ends of the earth. Members at our church have gone on missions to Jamaica, Haiti, Kenya.
Athens Christian Church has the honor of connecting people to God, Jesus Christ, and to one another in a loving and caring setting. It is our mission to empower our community to become disciples of God by learning the gospels and practicing his word.
The word “church” originates from the word “gathering” or “to gather”. This is why we so strongly cling to the notion that the church is not a building or a structure, but rather, the church is actually the believers themselves. We aim to maintain and foster a comfortable environment for our congregation to gather, build relationships, demonstrate love and share their knowledge. We believe that the Lord Almighty rewards those who take time out of each day to show their gratitude through prayer and showing to his love to everyone they meet.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (NLT)
6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
